Dartmouth Alumni for Climate Leadership (DACL) is a re-focused continuation of Dartmouth Alumni for Climate Action (DACA) which began as a student initiative in 2014, focusing on divestment from fossil fuel investments by the College’s Endowment.  In 2023 then President Elect Sian Leah Beilock's first College wide message included a prominent commitment to climate. A little more than a year after President Beilock first met with representatives of DACA, it is time to announce the creation of the Dartmouth Alumni for Climate Leadership( DACL) as the successor in name to DACA. We believe that the new name is important, as it is indicative of a new moment at the College, and a new mission for DACA in light of the important events and announcements about climate and sustainability in the last year.  DACL is independent of the College. With that independence comes both the opportunity and the responsibility to monitor and report on the College’s climate and sustainability initiatives, plans and progress.  DACL will inform members, be a source of information and feedback for the college, and if needed, be a constructive critic.​Click here for more history​
